Hume Street Park expansion noted by council
The council reviewed the Hume Street Park expansion and acknowledged the need for Stage 2 to increase open space in the Crows Nest precinct.

During the meeting the council reviewed the expansion of Hume Street Park and the demolition of Kelly’s Place, noting that the Crows Nest St Leonard’s precinct has a population density of 9,733 people per square kilometre and only 3.42 metres squared per person of open space.
The council also noted that Stage One of the expanded Hume Street Park delivered 1,200 square metres of new open space for Crows Nest and was formally opened in February 2022.
The council received and noted the report on the expansion, and the council will consider the next steps for Stage Two as discussed by the members.
